GRANDPA LOUIE RETIRES
Louis Cappola is 94 years old and we thought we should throw him a party, because he has decided to retire. You see, Louis Cappola has never quit, he has never given up and he has never said "I can't". He is not afraid of work and no one has ever outworked him. He has done something that perhaps no one has ever done - He has worked for AFC Enterprises, Inc. for 77 years! He has worked for three generations of the Catapano family. He did the little things with pride and proficiency and the great things with humility. Louis was among the first to break
ground for the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and for Idlewild Airport later to become Kennedy airport. President Roosevelt stood beside his Crane as he broke ground for the
Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. Louis is the best operator, a natural talent, a hall - of-famer. Nobody can do it better and everybody knows it. If there was an impossible job to be done, everyone looked to Louis and he never disappointed. He can sit for
hours and tell you about the beginning of JFK, the wild dogs, the swamp and all the
effort to make IDLEWILD work. There may not be books written about him, but anyone who knows Louis Cappola, Understand just how great a person he is. He is a selfless man, pure in spirit, a rugged strong man, with a loving heart. "The world has too many famous people, but only one Louis Cappola". As his eldest grandson said.
