THE SEMANTICS HONOR CONTINENTAL AIRLINES CARGO
Clem Igneri, President of The Semantics - a group of aviation Businessmen who provide one on one assistance to needy members of our community, congratulates Mr. Doug Grill of Continental Airlines Cargo JFK. MEXICANA AIRLINES INAGURAL
Mexicana Airlines has selected Terminal 4 as the new base of its New York metropolitan area operations. DELTA AIR LINES 75TH ANNIVERSARY
On August 20th, Delta will be celebrating 75 years of serving customers with special events in JFK including; a commemorative event for Delta employees, family and friends at JFK International Airport, a charity flight on the Spirit of Delta , Delta’s first Boeing 767 aircraft including a recreation of Delta’s original DC-3 livery of 1940. The aircraft was purchased in 1982 with voluntary contributions from employees, retirees and it community partners. In addition, visitors will be able to see Delta’s rich history with a 75th Anniversary traveling exhibit, which includes a 16 - panel visual history of Delta Air Lines, interactive kiosks featuring historical videos, and Delta’s vintage aircraft - the fully restored DC-3. Delta Air Lines is proud to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2004. Delta is the world’s second largest airline in terms of passengers carried and the leading U.S. carrier across the Atlantic, offering daily flights to 492 destinations in 86 countries on Delta, Song, Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers and its worldwide partners. Delta’s marketing alliances allow customers to earn and redeem frequent flier miles on more than 14,000 flights offered by SkyTeam, Northwest Airlines, Continental Airlines and other partners. LYSA SCULLY ASSUMES NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTORSHIP AT THE PORT AUTHORITY
Lysa Scully was recently named Assistant Director of the newly created Customer, Cargo and Airport Services Division for the Port Authority’s Department of Aviation. She takes on the responsibilities of Customer Services & Standards previously directed by Joanne Paternoster who retired in June, while retaining responsibility for other key business areas. Previously serving as Assistant Director of Strategic Planning, Air Service Development and Administration at the agency’s Aviation Department for seven years, Lysa provided the vision for key strategic areas pivotal to the operations of JFK, Newark Liberty and LaGuardia airports, including human resources development,
strategic planning and performance management. She also headed up an aggressive cargo business program for the Port Authority and promoted the benefits of our airports to the international and domestic community through her direction of the agency’s air service development efforts. In her new role, Lysa integrates her previous responsibilities for the cargo and air services development business programs with the existing Customer Services and Standards programs to ensure that the entire airport community is working together to achieve the highest level of quality across all areas from ground transportation and access to cargo and passenger services. Lysa is also taking over the Focus on the Customer column, which has appeared in Airport Press for the past two years. She says she will continue to report on the key role airport employees have in customer satisfaction, focusing on their commitment and successes, but she will also provide added information about air cargo and its importance to the region. She is very excited about the opportunity this job gives her to work closely with the airport community in meeting the needs of our customers. In addition to Lysa’s aviation background, she will bring to this new opportunity her experiences from a variety of executive and senior-level management positions in several departments at the Port Authority, including Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals; Management and Budget;
Comptrollers and the agency’s Executive Offices were she held the corporate officer position of Secretary of the Port Authority. Lysa has an MBA in Finance from Pace University and a BS degree in Accounting from Rutgers College and lives in Merrick, New York with her husband Timothy, and sons Stephen, age three and Daniel, age two.
