| SONG'S TAKES FLIGHT FOR
BREAST CANCER AWARENESS |
 |
Breast Cancer Research Foundation
to Increase Awareness and Raise
Funds in the Search For a Cure
Song Airlines, is joining the fight
against breast cancer this month– Breast
Cancer Awareness Month–by adding pink
to its palette. Song is introducing a pink
plane to its fleet in partnership with The
Breast Cancer Research Foundation
(BCRF) to raise funds and awareness for
the disease. On one of the 12 Boeing 757s
being added to its fleet in 2005, Song
replaced its distinctive lime green and
white exterior with pink and white.
Additionally, Song will make a variety
of "pink products" available for purchase
on all 48 planes with a portion of proceeds
to benefit BCRF, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to funding innovative research
to find ways to prevent and cure breast
cancer.
In addition to painting this unique
plane pink, Song will brand it with BCRF's
trademarked pink ribbon logo adjacent to
the boarding door, which passengers can
view as they board. Song will unveil the
plane in Atlanta on Sept. 20. Song will host
additional ceremonial unveiling events in
Boston and New York on Oct. 7, with special
appearances by Evelyn Lauder,
Founder and Chairman of BCRF, and Elizabeth
Hurley, Estee Lauder brand and
Estee Lauder Companies Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign spokesmodel. Song
will then showcase the plane in each of its
markets throughout the month. |

| FEMA ASKS JAX CUSTOMS
AGENTS TO HELP SURVEY
STORM DESTRUCTION |
Pilot Bill Walsh and his 5 man crew
are on a mission, "we're going to try and
assist FEMA in getting some greater
understanding of the level of destruction."
That greater understanding will come
in the form of pictures. The crew is part
of Jacksonville's Surveillance and Support
Branch of US Customs and Border Protection.
They are videotaping all of the
storm damage from Alabama to Louisiana.
They are using a camera attached to
this P3 "MPI", also known as a Maritime
Patrol and Intercept aircraft. The high
tech equipment was designed for surveillance
in drug interdiction missions, now it
will help save lives.
Walsh says, “this airplane is capable of
pretty good optics, so we can fly over and
focus a camera down if we see someone,
for instance, that's on a roof waving, we
can then take a very accurate GPS position
there and give that back to search and
rescue coordinators."
Mission accomplished for this US
Customs and Border Protection Surveillance
Team. |

international and domestic carriers that fly from JFK Terminal 4. “Bringing our service to New York will increase business travel and tourism to South America, including major Brazilian cities like Rio de Janeiro, that will have direct connections from our home base in São Paulo,” said Rudson Torres, station manager of TAM Brazilian Airlines. “Terminal 4’s operations team has helped us to get the new service off the ground quickly and they have made the start-up process smooth and efficient. We’re pleased to work with a team that cares as much about our passengers as we do.” TAM will service the new route with its Airbus 330-200 and will offer First, Business and Economy class seats. The Monday, Wednesday, and Friday flights will depart from JFK Terminal 4 at 6 p.m., with a Sunday flight departing at 7:30 a.m., all arriving in São Paulo in just over nine hours. TAM’s flight schedule enables immediate connections to several major Brazilian cities including Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Asunción. Currently, TAM offers service between Miami and São Paulo twice daily. New York will be the only other U.S. city to be served by the airline. “The addition of TAM Brazilian Airlines enables us to add more destinations to the ever-expanding list of cities served by our 50 international and domestic carriers. We’re proud to be the terminal that offers service to more destinations that any other in the New York-area,” said Janice Holden, director of marketing and business development for JFK IAT, LLC. “We are committed to offering these passengers – and all of our more-than-six-million annual passengers -- the most efficient service, the convenience of minimal security wait times, the best shops and quality food and beverage options.” |
