AER LINGUS EXTENDS AT TERMINAL 4
JFK IAT LLC, operator of the ultramodern Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport , announced that Aer Lingus, the national airline of Ireland and the third largest of the terminal’s 50 international and
domestic airlines, has extended its contract to operate at Terminal 4 until 2010. Transporting nearly 500,000 passengers per year, Aer Lingus is the sixth largest international airline at JFK International Airport overall, based on passenger volume. In addition, the carrier ranks number 13 of all airlines at JFK. “Aer Lingus has built a strong presence in New York and will continue to grow its passenger volume in the coming years,” said Henk Guitjens, Chief Marketing Officer for JFK IAT LLC. “We’re pleased the airline has again selected Terminal 4 as its home base. And we will continue to offer Aer Lingus, and all of our 50 airlines, the most efficient and passenger-friendly terminal in the New York area.”

HILTON GARDENS INN OPENS AT JFK
The Hilton Garden Inn at JFK is now open. With 194 rooms, the hotel offers complimentary parking and shuttle, indoor pool, workout facility and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. STEPHEN PHILLIPS
JOINS FLIGHTSAFETY
FlightSafety International has appointed Stephen Phillips as its Director of Communications. He will be based at the company’s corporate office in New York and assumes responsibility for all corporate communications programs and activities including advertising, direct marketing, public relations and events. Steve joins FlightSafety from Bombardier Aerospace, where he held a number of Marketing and Public Relations positions in the Business Aircraft Division. He first joined the company in 1978, and spent the last seven years as Director of Marketing for Bombardier Flexjet fractional jet ownership program in Dallas, Texas. Roger Richie will be retiring from the company after 17
years, as Director of Communications. “We would like to thank Roger for his significant contribution to FlightSafety. He played a vital role in the growth of our company through his dedication, creativity and exceptional communications skills”; said Jim Waugh, Executive Vice President, Flight- Safety International. We at Airport Press wish Roger well and extend best wishes for the success of Steve Phillips as he takes over the reins as Director of Communications.

LGA Station Managers March Meeting

Presented on March 8th during the annual Bogus Bob/Babs award to Joseph Tufano, Administration Manager, US Airways (accepting for Vincent Laucella) at LaGuardia Airport's March Station Managers meeting. $50 Bogus Bob/Babs awards are given throughout the year to airport employees who identify and challenge auditors not displaying their airport identification cards while on secure areas of the airport. At the end of the year all the recipients are entered in a drawing for a $500 prize.

NEWARK WINS CONCESSION AWARD IN NATIONAL COMPETITION
Airport Recognized for Most Unique Services; Terminal
C Captures Honor for Best Single Terminal Concessions
Shops, restaurants and terminals at Newark Liberty International Airport once again captured top honors in the prestigious Airport Revenue News’ Best Concessions annual competition. The airport beat out all large U.S. airports in the category of Most Unique Services. Terminal C received five first-place awards for a single terminal. In the past five years, Port Authority airports have won a
combined 26 first prizes in the annual competition, which is judged by aviation experts. Port Authority Director of Aviation William R. DeCota said, “These awards are a testament to the bold concessions prog ram spear-headed by the Port
Authority in coordination with our retail developers and airline partners. The hallmarks of that program are quality, service, price, value and variety of innovative concessions. As more and more passengers return to airports across the country, it’s more important than ever to provide high levels of attentive customer service.” In selecting Newark Liberty International Airport as the winner of the Most Unique Services Award, judges noted the varied offerings of food and beverage, retail and passenger comforts. Some of the restaurants and services recognized include: Rio Duoro – a new, full-service Portuguese restaurant in Terminal
C, Gallagher’s Steakhouse – a branch of the famous Manhattan landmark restaurant, D_Parture Spa – a full-service spa locatedin Terminals B and C, Massage Bar – Two stores offering massage and skin care products in Terminal A., Airport Wireless – Two stores offering wireless accessories for computers and cell phones, located in Terminals A and C. Terminal C at Newark Airport, run by Continental Airlines with concessions Managed by Westfield Concession Management, Inc., captured first-place awards in the following five categories for a single terminal : Best Conc essions Program Design; Terminal with Best Customer Service; Terminal with Best Management Team; Terminal with Most Unique Services; and Terminal with Best Overall Concessions Program. Shops and restaurants in Terminals A and B are managed by Unison-Maximus, Inc.

ANA APPOINTS MR. TAKESHI ASAO AS SENIOR V.P. GENERAL MANAGER - THE AMERICAS
Mr. Takeshi Asao has assumed the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Americas for ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS in April. Mr. Asao joined ANA in April
1972 in has held various management positions, most recently Vice President and General Manager Southeast and Northeast Regions. We at the Airport Press wish him good luck and offer him our support.

PARKING LOT CLOSURE AT JOHN F. KENNEDY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
On Monday, April 4, the parking lot directly across from the American Airlines terminals at John F. Kennedy International Airport closed for construction of a new, state-of-the-art parking facility. The new facility, which will provide 1,940 public parking spaces, is expected to be completed in early 2007. Customers are encouraged to use public transportation to access AirTrain JFK at the Jamaica or the Howard Beach/JFK Airport subway stations or to use the kiss and fly drop-off at AirTrain Station B, at Lefferts Boulevard, where passengers can ride AirTrain JFK free. For short-term parking, American Airlines customers can use an alternate parking lot, which is easily accessible by following the Terminals 8 and 9 parking signs on the Van Wyck and JFK expressways. Parking for the first hour is free and free shuttle service to the terminals departs from the lot every 15 minutes. E-ZPass Plus will not be available in this lot. For long-term parking, American Airlines customers are advised to use the long-term parking lot and ride AirTrain JFK free of charge to get to the American Airlines terminals.
