Mr. Smitelli will be honored as Man of the Year at the KAAMCO 29th Annual Holiday Dinner Dance on Friday, December 14, 2007 at Leonard's of Great Neck. Carl Smitelli is one of the original founders and CEO of Cargo Airport Services USA, LLC (CAS), an international cargo handling company based at JFK International Airport in Jamaica, New York. Carl has over forty years of aviation experience, which includes senior management positions at Northeast Airlines, Servair, Dynair and Triangle Aviation Services. Carl is committed to the cargo business and is a proud supporter of KAAMCO and the other industry organizations at JFK.

Our Lady of the Skies Catholic Chapel at Terminal 4, JFK, along with Bishop Nicholas A. DiMarzio, award Camille Polemini and Andrew Halley as Man and Woman of the Year at a splendid luncheon held at Russo's on the Bay.

NAAPRA (the North American Airlines Public Relations Assoc) held its monthly luncheon on Oct 24th at Terminal 4's Bar Avion hosted by JFKIAT. Pictured above are some of NAAPRA's members together with TSA FSD, Joe Morris, keynote speaker, Lara Uselding and other TSA officials.

Gabriel Melo (PA employee), observed two suspects acting suspiciously at the smart card area. One of the suspects would attempt to distract travelers and the other would move in to take their bags. As he called PAPD, he noticed one of the suspects taking a purse from a smart carte. He stopped the suspect & held him until PAPD arrived at scene to take both suspects into custody. He was awarded $1000. The Airport Community Watch program is able to raise security awareness & prevent criminal activity at our airports.
