| A NEW TERMINAL FOR JFK |
Port Authority executives joined JetBlue Airways CEO Dave Barger, elected officials and invited guests to inaugurate Terminal 5 - JetBlue's new home at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The new 26-gate, 635,000- square-foot terminal was designed to handle up to 20 million passengers per year. "Today is an historic day for all of New York," said Senator Chuck Schumer. "JetBlue has brought a national landmark back to life and put it at the epicenter of air transportation here in New York and for the entire world. Terminal 5 will give New Yorkers the state-of-the-art air travel hub we need and deserve." The design and amenities of T5 allow customers to control their own movement and experience through the terminal. Two mirrorimage check-in areas with a high proportion of e-ticket kiosks flank a central security checkpoint -- the largest single checkpoint in the United States -- capable of accommodating 20 screening lanes. The new Terminal 5 stands behind the landmark TWA Terminal, and the two buildings are joined via tubes that were used by TWA's passengers to access gates. The TWA Terminal, designed by renowned architect Eero Saarinen, is controlled by the Port Authority, which is currently rehabilitating the structure. The TWA Terminal no longer can meet the needs of passengers because of its many aeronautical limitations, but the Port Authority is committed to reopening this marvel of modern American architecture to the public. Tune into Airport Press's November issue for a special insert celebrating the new terminal with a complete photo catalog and stories. |

Tiffany LeMoine of Airport Press and Nora Hennessey, whose father works for British Airways, both submitted winning essays. Additionally, every year a $1,500.00 check is contributed to Aviation High School in Long Island City in support of Principal Eileen Taylor's excellent work there. In |

| PAPERLESS EFREIGHT SYSTEM ALPHA TESTED BY SWISS WORLDCARGO |
WorldCargo has been selected by IATA to pioneer the introduction of a new 'e-freight' facility. To recognize its status, Swiss is introducing a new motto: 'No paper, thanks!'. From the beginning of 2009 Swiss will record and handle cargo consignments in electronic form. "We are honored to be chosen by IATA to trial e-freight in a practical working environment and help this new facility achieve its worldwide breakthrough as swiftly as possible," said Markus Loeffler, senior manager efreight, Swiss WorldCargo. The new e-freight facility will initially be introduced at Zurich Airport - again on IATA's initiative. In practical terms, this means that not only Swiss WorldCargo, but all the parties involved in the local logistics chain will exchange their consignment details online. IATA's overall aim is to ensure that air cargo consignments are handled electronically as extensively as possible by the end of 2010. |
