AN AFTERNOON WITH BOB
Wiliam R. Puckhaber, Joe Alba
Robert Crandall Retired CEO of American Airlines
Bob Crandall, former CEO of American Airlines and a pioneer in the industry, spoke at the Wings Club Luncheon on June 10th and our publisher, Bill Puckhaber attended the lunch. Although Crandall is a lot wealthier than Bill, both share one thing in common, major management experience with US flagship carriers; one still kicking which is American and in Bill's case, one now defunct, which was Pan Am. Jerry has two very significant strengths that he can leverage in this position. For one, he has demonstrated ability in managing and maintaining excellent relationships with and securing support from external constituents, airlines, business community, customers, various levels of government, and the surrounding communities. Second, he has unparalleled ability to provide leadership and implementing programs to maintain and optimize JFK runways, taxiways, airfield lighting, signage, line striping, and pavement markings in strict compliance with all FAA guidance and regulations.
